Every winter, Dartmouth undergraduates, graduate teaching assistants, and professors travel to Costa Rica and the Cayman Islands in search of a field ecologist’s dream: encountering more species for the first time than they could possibly imagine.

As we make it through the cloud forests, coral reefs, and jungles, we’re putting the knowledge we’ve built back home to the test: learning how to conduct research that broadens our understanding of the world around us.

We believe that scientific research is incredibly important, but also fun, and we’re excited at the thought of the  skills we’ll gain and the organisms we’ll see while we’re here.
